First processed image with the 130GTX+ASI6200MM, Deer Lick and the Quintet

Yuxuan Wang

I've got the 130GTX for a while and was obsessed for the most time with perfecting the optical train. In the process I took many frames and did not process the images. The other day I saw an excellent image here of the Deer Lick and Stephan's Quintet, and realized I've got a lot of subframes on it as well. So I took the time to process it. I'm really impressed by the details.

I shot the image for calibration purposes initially, and the 130GTX is obviously too wide for these two targets, so I cropped about half of the image to make the composition not too empty. But believe me the stars all the way to the corners are PERFECT!

Congratulations to the 130GTX and to this fine image. I am currently doing the same, adapting the QHY600M to the 130GTX with the QuadTCC.

Do you mind sharing the details of you adaption?

Thanks,
Eckhard

Hi Yuxuan,

This looks amazing and I look forward to seeing more of your images. Can you share what your image train looks like?

Clear skies,
Richard

Beautiful image Yuxuan, well done.

Thanks everyone for the kind words!

My imaging train consists of a precise parts adapter from 3.27” to m54 threads, ZWO m54 tilt plate, ZWO OAG-L, ZWO EFW, and ZWO ASI6200MM.

I used NINA’s Hocus Focus for tilt and back focus adjustment, per Chris White’s recommendation. The ZWO tilt plate is a bit crude and sometimes flimsy, but I just don’t have the back focus to use the more sophisticated tilt plates. After many months I got the hang of it.

Thanks, Yuxuan

That's funny that you got the "hang of it". A bit of double entendre humor? -Best, Robert
